Find out why an editor thinks Mizani’s multitasking 25 Miracle Nourishing Oil is the only hair product you'll need this summer.
Stassi Schroeder’s addictive book, “Next Level Basic" has us wondering: Is basic hair a bad thing? We investigate.
Being a salon blonde in the winter can be quite a challenge. Living on the east coast and working full-time in the Big Apple, the harsh winter winds and icy temperatures take a serious toll on my mane. My ash blonde hair is not only plagued with dryness between December and March, but also lacks the shine and color vibrancy that I have during the warm, carefree summer months.
Being the product junkie that I am, I’m always looking for the perfect product to help remedy my parched, dull hair. When I saw that the Redken Color Extend Magnetics Mega Mask had been placed on my desk as a gift from the brand, I knew I needed to give it a whirl. Fast forward a few washes later, and the product has earned a permanent spot in my hair care routine.
For everything there is to know about the treatment and care extender for color-treated hair, keep scrolling.
Here’s the deal: I have lengthy, color-treated blonde hair that’s been bleached more times than I can recall—and my strands have definitely felt the damaging effects of lightener over the years. I get touch-ups every six to eight weeks, so I need some help maintaining the life of my blonde between appointments.. My strands are also on the side of fine hair, so I tend to skip out on heavier formulas that can leave me with flat hair. Lucky for me, the Redken Color Extend Magnetics Mega Mask is the answer to all my hair woes wrapped in a sleek pink bottle.
I started using the lightweight cream formula just over a week ago, incorporating it into my shower routine every other wash. I noticed that my once dry, brittle-feeling hair felt soft and moisturized after just one use—not to mention, my light blonde hue looked as if I had just gotten a gloss treatment. The dual chamber mega hair mask is intended to provide deep, intense conditioning, and a care extender to provide ultimate vibrancy that lasts up to 3 washes.
I begin my shower routine by shampooing and conditioning my strands with the Redken Color Extend Magnetics Shampoo and Conditioner. Once I’ve fully rinsed out my conditioner, I apply a dollop of the Color Extend Magnetics Mega Mask throughout my mane from mid-lengths to ends. I leave the floral-scented product in my hair for about five minutes to be sure that I reap the full benefits of the product and then rinse it out thoroughly. Once I’m out of the shower, I apply a dime-size amount of air-dry cream throughout my hair and wait for it to completely dry.
Once my hair is dried, my natural waves are soft, moisturized, and shiny as if i’d just left of the salon. If your color-treated strands are feeling the effects of winter, try the Redken Color Extend Magnetics Mega Mask for yourself.
