We love summer. If we're honest, however—we’re kind of counting down the days until fall. As much as we love the beach, pool, and the scenic road trips, in between all of those fun activities we have to deal with sweltering temperatures, hair-ruining humidity, and being feasted on by mosquitos.

Unfortunately, we can’t change the weather (that’s up to Mother Nature). That doesn’t mean, however, that we can’t get into the autumn spirit just a few weeks early. If you’re looking for a few fall color ideas to jumpstart your seasonal slay, look no further.

We’ve rounded up eight fall colors that will keep your hair looking cool while you wait for the weather to catch up with you.

Light Auburn

Auburn is the ultimate fall color. Embrace fall without completely forgetting about summer by opting for this light auburn hue. The subtle mix of red, brown, and blonde looks flattering on everybody!

Autumn Color Melt

It doesn’t get more fall than leaves on the ground—so why not use them as your inspiration? As you count down the days until your favorite season arrives, you will have a daily reminder of what’s to come every time you look in the mirror.

Orange Spice

It’s not exactly pumpkin spice season just yet, but that doesn’t mean we’re not craving it. Get your spice fix with a bright take on the pumpkin spice latte hair for a mane that looks just as delicious at the end of summer as it does all fall.

Mermaid Hair

Mermaid-inspired locks have been all the rage this year. This subdued take on the trend perfectly blends the dark hues preferred in fall with the bright colors of summer. This look will be perfect for Labor Day all the way through Thanksgiving!

Oil Slick

Oil slick hair is another take on multicolored locks that we just can’t get enough of. Your colorist will expertly mix subtle shades of purple, blue, yellow, and green for a final color that look that will resemble the prettiest oil slick you’ve ever seen.

Shadow Roots With Hot Pink Color Melt

This color combination is perfect for anyone with blonde locks who is trying to transition their look to fall but is not ready to give up the playfulness of summer colors. Simply ask your stylist to blend your grown out hair into shadow roots for a seamless grow-out for fall, while expertly painting your mid-lengths and ends hot pink.

Half Green And Orange

It doesn’t get any more fall than this Halloween-inspired look. This half color job allows you to literally transition into fall, keeping your summer color on one side and your fall on the other. While this look is not for the faint of heart, those willing to take the plunge will be rewarded with countless dropped jaws.

Rose Gold

Rose gold was the color of 2017 and for a good reason—it looks good on everyone. This take on the rose gold trend is full of depth and will as stunning on the beach as it will cascading from your fall hats.
