The best thing about curly hair is the versatility. You can braid it, straighten it, fluff it, or tie it up in a dainty bun. The options are endless!

Unfortunately, with versatility comes options—and with options come the pressure to choose just one. Often, ladies with curly hair end up wearing the same basic wash-and-go day after day. We love a good go-to style but we’re firm believers in shaking things up.

To help us get out of our style rut, we reached out to Reece Brown-Willis, Mizani artist and brand ambassador, for easy natural hairstyle ideas. Brown-Willis shared some of her favorite hairstyles for natural hair and gave us all the information we need to pull off these flawless looks at home.

Side Swept Wash And Go

Begin by cleansing and conditioning with Mizani True Textures shampoo and conditioner. Then, spritz Mizani 25 Miracle Milk throughout the hair to help detangle. Finger comb Mizani True Textures Curl Enhancing Lotion through your locks from roots to end. Scrunch Mizani True Textures Twist & Coil Jelly into the ends of your strands. Next, diffuse on medium power and low heat to set the hair.

Section off some hair on the right or left side of your head. Using the sectioned off hair, create three or four flat twists. Use hair pins to secure the flat twists in place. Fluff the remaining hair by using a pick at the roots to create dramatic volume. For added flare, add hair jewelry to the back.

Apply Mizani Edge Taming Gel to your edges and brush through them with a boar bristle brush until your hair lays completely flat. Mist hair with Mizani 25 Miracle Milk, then gather the hair at the crown of your head with an elastic or bungee. Allow your longest strands to fall forward over your forehead, giving the illusion of a bun and bangs. Fluff your bun until it is perfectly rounded. To complete this look, use a flat bobby pin to secure the bang area into place.

Crown-Shaped Top Knot

To begin, create a horseshoe-shaped part from the middle of one eyebrow across the crown area to the other. Secure top section of hair with an elastic or bungee. Loosely wrap hair into a donut shape and fasten it with hair pins. For a final touch, pull single strands out of bun to add flare and create an stylishly undone look.
