Matrix Announces NAHA Wins For Michelle O’Connor And Danielle Keasling
31 July 2018
There are plenty of distinguished awards out there for actors, writers, and theater stars. Like any other profession, hairstylists at the very top of their fields deserve recognition! Enter the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA), which highlight the very brightest in the hair industry. On July 29, 2018, the best colorists and most artistic visionaries in North America got together at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, NV, to receive credit for their year of contributions to the world of hair.
The NAHA celebration featured some of Matrix’s brightest stars and was even hosted by television’s Tabatha Coffey, the brand’s global business ambassador. Fittingly, Matrix was proudly represented in an astonishing eight out of the 13 award categories. Finalists included nods for Nick Stenson, Matrix artistic director and celebrity stylist, for Hairstylist of the Year and Chrystofer Benson, Matrix artistic director, as Master Hairstylist of the Year. Dilek Onur Taylor, Matrix artistic director, and Caryann Stavrou, Matrix artistic educator also nabbed spots on the exclusive list.
In the end, two Matrix artists took home awards. Michelle O’Connor, Matrix artistic director, won the Texture category for the second time. The award recognizes artists who do outstanding work creating styles that highlight the texture of the hair in a beautiful and striking way.
It wasn’t over for the brand, either. Danielle Keasling, Matrix artistic director, took home the prestigious Hairstylist of the Year award. The achievement recognizes a stylist’s expertise in styling, cutting, and texture.
While O’Connor and Keasling may be new to you, they’re longtime members of the Hair.com expert panel. The former taught us how to make a hair mask work in our weekly routines, touting the benefits of Matrix’s 60-second Total Results Mask.
The fact that the Total Results Mask comes in a neat little portable pouch with very little commitment of time makes it a win-win situation...At the end of the day what woman doesn’t want beautiful, shiny, healthy-looking hair? It took you less time than it takes to make a bag of popcorn in the microwave.
On the other hand, Keasling has given us advice ranging from braiding tips to coping with graying strands. She doled out some no-nonsense advice for aging.
I believe as we age we should absolutely take better care of our hair. Our hair needs protein, moisture, vitamins, and nutrients that our bodies start lacking as we get older...It’s imperative to put in those nutrients and balance what age is taking away from us.
Rest assured you’ll hear plenty more from this winning duo in the future. We’ll tap O'Connor and Keasling for all our texture, haircare, and styling needs. In the meantime, follow O’Connor on Instagram @michelleoconnorbeauty and Keasling @danielle.keasling.
