We’re not afraid to admit we’re suckers for a good celebrity endorsement. Celebrities have access to absolutely anything and everything. If they’re taking the time out of their busy schedules to recommend a product, it just has to be the best—right? We don’t know where stars get all of their recommendations from, but we know precisely who they count on for hair advice.
You may not have access to at-home hair appointments with the world’s top stylists but thanks to Redken, you’ll have access to hair products inspired, tested, and used by two of the top celebrity stylists. On July 23, Redken announced that colorists Ryan Pearl and Johnny Ramirez have joined the Redken team as brand ambassadors.
Pearl comes from a long line of beauty gurus (including his mother, who has been in the air industry for 40 years). It was his mother who inspired Pearl to first enter the hair industry 12 years ago at Metro Salon in New Jersey. Pearl entered the hair world intent on becoming a master barber, but he quickly found his love for hair color while attending beauty school. After years of perfecting his craft, Pearl landed his first celebrity client four years ago—and the rest is history! These days you can find Pearl whipping up stunning hair colors at the Cutler Salon in Soho, New York. Most recently, the celebrity colorist created the dazzling pink look for Hailey Baldwin for the annual Met Gala.
Pearl has been a fan of the brand for years and could not be more excited to join the Redken team.
“I’ve been using Redken products ever since I started doing hair twelve years ago, so it has always been a dream of mine to work with the brand,” he says. “I’m so excited to work with Redken in a larger capacity and to share all of my tips, tricks, and formulas.”
While Pearl hails from the East Coast, Redken went to the West Coast to find their next guru.
Ramirez has been working in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, since 2006 and quickly has become one of the most in-demand colorists in the country. In 2013, Ramirez partnered with fellow celebrity stylist Anh Co Tran to open their very own salon, the Ramirez | Tran Salon. Ramirez often takes his talents worldwide, regularly working in New York, San Francisco, Miami, and Mexico. Ramirez isn’t just a colorist to the stars, either: He is also an invaluable source of information. The master colorist shares his techniques with fellow colorists at the L’Oréal Academy through his Lived-in Color education via Box No.216 workshop.
Ramirez says his recent partnership with Redken has always been a dream of his.
“Redken has been a part of my Lived-in Color story since day one, and it has always been a dream of mine to work with this brand. The products and colors have continuously helped establish my aesthetic and craft, while also bringing my vision to life,” he says. “Because of how accurate Redken colors are to hair, I can easily match with my clients’ skin tones and eye colors to produce California beach kissed highlights that can take five-plus years off my clients. I look forward to this collaboration, telling my story, and producing effortless Lived-in Color together."
Now you know your favorite Redken products have a stamp of approval from your favorite celebrity colorists.
