With festival season on the horizon, many of us are scouring social media in search of some serious hair inspiration. Music festivals are the perfect place to try out your wildest hair fantasies, and no one does that better than Vanessa Hudgens.

From down-to-there hair extensions and wild hair accessories to intricate updos and bold colors, there’s no style too dramatic for Hudgens to slay. It should come as no surprise that Matrix honored Hudgens with the Matrix and Ulta Beauty SoColor Cult Icon award at the Ulta Beauty General Manager Conference on April 11. The brand sees Hudgens’ “fearless and enthusiastic approach to beauty and fashion” as the embodiment of the SoColor Cult hair color line, making her a natural choice for the icon award.

“I’m always looking for inspirational and cool ways to feel confident. And we all know the importance of being able to express ourselves freely. So, I am thrilled to be the Cult icon—because what better way to express yourself than by changing your hair color,” Hudgens said while accepting her award. “Pink today, violet tomorrow—isn’t it great how many options we have to explore color? I’m looking forward to my Cult journey!”

Matrix SoColor Cult is an innovative, vibrant color collection that gives stylists the freedom to customize color longevity with options for semi-permanent, demi-permanent and permanent formulations. The range comes in 28 shades including pastels, grays, dusty hues, and neon colors.

Ever the style chameleon, Hudgens arrived at the conference wearing a chic, chin-length bob with vibrant pink ends created with SoColor Cult. While celebrities can be apprehensive about changing up their look too often, Hudgens credits talented hair stylists with her willingness to try new looks.

“I work with hairdressers I really trust. They understand that when I change my hair, it can affect not only my look but my career. And believe me, there are people out there who really want to see you mess up,” she admitted. “So, you have to be sure your hairstylist gets it and puts your best interests first.”

If you want to channel your inner Hudgens, SoColor Cult will be available in fine salons this summer.
