L’Oréal does not use any ingredient from rare or endangered animal species, nor any ingredient of porcine, bovine or ovine origin; except lanolin (which is taken from live sheep). We use derivatives of raw materials of animal origin in restricted quantities, such as honey, beeswax, lanolin, as well as fish derivatives and poultry egg derivatives.

Parabens are a group of commonly used ingredients that act as a preservative in cosmetics and personal care products. They are highly effective in preventing the growth of fungi, bacteria and yeast that could contaminate and degrade products.
As part of our commitment to deliver high-quality, effective products, certain parabens are used in some of our formulations to ensure the safety of our consumers. Extensive research spanning decades has confirmed the parabens in our portfolio are safe at the concentrations we use. The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), which regulates the personal care industry, upholds these findings.
While we take great care in evaluating each ingredient we use and are confident in our products’ safety, we know there is public conversation encouraging consumers to avoid certain ingredients, as is the case with some parabens. Based on growing demand for products that do not include parabens, we substituted them for other preservatives in some of our products. Consumers can look on our products’ labels to see what ingredients are included. Additionally, as part of our innovation strategy we are developing packaging systems and new product formulations that are less vulnerable to microbiological contamination, which will limit the use of preservatives in general.

There are no specific restrictions for using our products. However, you should always consult your doctor for questions or concerns.
An order confirmation will appear as the last step in your order process. Shortly after, you will receive an order acknowledgement email confirming receipt of your order. Within 24 hours you will receive an order confirmation email detailing the order number and summary of your order.
You may view your order history by signing into My Account and selecting Order History from the left hand selection bar. If you have checked out as a Guest you will not be able to review your order history.

Currently, Hair.com ships to all 50 states as well as U.S. territories (such as Puerto Rico and Guam). Please find more information Shipping And Delivery on restrictions to Alaska, Hawaii, or U.S. Territories. Shipments to international destinations are not available. In order to make purchases at Hair.com, you must have both a shipping address and credit card billing address within the United States. In addition, the issuing bank must be based in the United States.
At Hair.com, we appreciate your business and stand behind the quality of our products. If you are unsatisfied with a product, you may return it within 30 days of purchase with your original receipt. Refunds for returns processed will be administered to the original form of payment.

We’re sorry if we’ve made a mistake processing your return. If you were expecting a refund and were not refunded the full amount, it may be because we do not refund orders placed +30 days nor overly used products. L’Oréal has developed a very rigorous safety evaluation procedure of its products, backed by research. Well before the question of animal testing was raised by civil society or within a regulatory framework, L’Oréal has been committed to new methods of assessing safety that don’t involve animals. A true pioneer, L'Oréal has been reconstructing human skin models in laboratories to elaborate in vitro safety tests since 1979, as an alternative to animals. In 1989, L’Oréal completely ceased testing its products on animals, thus 14 years before the regulation required so. Today, L'Oréal no longer tests its ingredients on animals and no longer tolerates any exception to this rule.
Certain health authorities may nevertheless decide to conduct animal tests themselves for certain cosmetic products, as it is still the case in China. L’Oréal has been the most active company working alongside the Chinese authorities and scientists for over 10 years to have alternative testing methods recognized, and permit the cosmetic regulation to evolve towards a total and definite elimination of animal testing. Thanks to this, since 2014, certain products manufactured and sold in China like shampoo, body wash or make-up are no longer tested on animals.

Our products have been tested to have at least a 3-year shelf life if unopened and stored at normal room temperature, during which they will retain their integrity and perform as expected.
If your product looks and smells the way it normally does, it is good to use.
Certain products, for example sunscreens, may have an expiration date printed on the product.

Diverted products can be counterfeit, diluted formulas, or old, expired formulas that may not be safe to use. Contaminated or counterfeit products could cause irritation or even infection. If you buy our products in a supermarket, drugstore or any other outlet other than this website or a Hair.com Consultant Salon, we cannot guarantee that it is an authentic Hair.com product.
