The holiday season is officially here and while it seems like everyone goes straight from Halloween to Christmas, there’s one essential holiday in between that we can’t wait to celebrate: Friendsgiving!

While Friendsgiving technically isn’t an actual holiday, we’ll take all of the delicious Thanksgiving food without any judgemental questions about our bohemian hairstyles from family members.

If you’re tasked with hosting your friends this year, chances are good that you don’t just want the turkey to look good—the hostess with the most-ess has to look absolutely flawless, too. Even though we can’t pick an outfit that will perfectly match your autumnal decor, we do have a quick and easy hairstyle that’s bound to wow your friends just as much as your stuffing.

If you curled your hair for a holiday party the night before your Friendsgiving, you’re in luck! This particular look is best achieved on brushed-out, second-day curls. If you're a stickler for washing your hair everyday, fear not—simply take a few minutes to curl your strands. Begin at the back of your head, working with one 2-inch section of hair. Spray the hair with a heat protectant like Redken’s Iron Shape 11, before wrapping the segment around your 1-inch curling iron or wand. The lightweight spray protects your hair from flat irons and curling irons up to 450 degrees while adding shine and reducing frizz.

Once you’ve curled your entire head, brush your curls gently until you’ve achieved the desired loose wave. Then, part your hair horizontally from one ear to the other and use two hair clips to secure the front half of your hair away from the back. Spray the bottom half of your hair with Redken’s Fashion Work 12 Hairspray and brush the bottom half of your hair back into a low ponytail. Secure your ponytail by creating a bungee with a hair elastic and two small bobby pins. Anchor one bobby pin in your ponytail and wrap the hair elastic around your ponytail before securing it with the second bobby pin. To give your ponytail a seamless finish, take a small segment of hair from the bottom of your ponytail and wrap it around the bungee before secure the section with a bobby pin.

Release the clips from the two front sections of hair and apply Redken’s Dry Shampoo Powder 02 throughout each section. Working with one section at a time, split the segment in two and create a loose two-strand twist. Secure the end of the twist beneath your ponytail and use a few more bobby pins to secure the twist near the front of your head. Repeat the same steps with the remaining section of hair. Once your twists are secure, set your look with a strong-hold hairspray like Redken’s Forceful 23 Super Strength Anti-Frizz Hairspray.
