Over the years, I’ve had my hair long and straight, big and curly, short and brown, and accidentally ginger. I’ve also been guilty of excessive straightening and ill-managed bleaching, both of which affected the length of my hair and its natural curl pattern. Now a little older and (hopefully) wiser, I’ve kept my hair in its naturally curly state for the last four years. My ringlets have been free from dyeing and heat styling, and I put my hair in braids from time to time as a protective style. Despite taking steps to rehabilitate my curls, I’ve always felt self-conscious when wearing my hair down instead of in a neat, slick bun. This means I’m always on the lookout for hair products that can rejuvenate my curls and make me feel confident in styling my hair in a way that looks healthy, shiny, and stylish.
Luckily, I was given the Kérastase Curl Manifesto range by the brand and I absolutely loved the results! So keep scrolling to get my thoughts on the Kérastase Reviews experience.
What is Kérastase Curl Manifesto?
If you ask someone with curly hair, they’ll likely tell you that their main hair woes are frizz, dryness, and damage. Luckily, the Kérastase Curl Manifesto line addresses all three. Made with ingredients like Manuka Honey and Ceramide, Curl Manifesto helps provide ultimate hydration, strength, and definition for curly, coily, and even wavy hair.
Which Kérastase line is best for curly hair?
There are plenty of Kérastase products that address curly hair concerns, but Curl Manifesto is by far the most effective for the needs of curly and coily hair types. In fact, whether you have loose curls or tight coils, Curl Manifesto makes it easy for you to create a complete hair routine.
Is Curl Manifesto sulfate-free?
While sulfate hair products aren’t always bad for your hair, curly girls are typically concerned about sulfates drying out their already coarse strands. Luckily, certain Curl Manifesto products, such as the Bain Hydratation Douceur Shampoo, Creme Dejour Fondamentale Hair Cream, and Huile Sublime Repair Hair Oil are all formulated without sulfates.

My Review Of The Kérastase Curl Manifesto Line
At the beginning of my Curl Manifesto journey, I felt a little apprehensive. No matter how many different products I’ve tried in the past, it’s always felt like I’m at the mercy of how my hair decides to act that day rather than how I choose to style it. However, this would be my first time trying a full range of products designed specifically for curly hair.
I first incorporated the Kérastase Curl Manifesto products into my wash day routine, beginning with the Curl Manifesto Huile Sublime Repair Hair Oil. This is a nourishing scalp and hair oil treatment that is super versatile as it can be used at multiple points of your haircare routine. As my hair gets really dry before wash day, I chose to use it as a pre-shampoo hair treatment, gently massaging it into my hair and waiting at least five minutes before continuing on with the Kérastase Curl Manifesto shampoo and conditioner. I found both the shampoo and conditioner to be very lightweight. The Curl Manifesto Bain Hydratation Douceur Shampoo, in particular, I only needed a small amount to create a sizeable lather—adding to a truly relaxing and indulgent experience.
I’m a big fan of deep conditioning as part of my wash routine, as it keeps my hair hydrated and is key to strengthening, moisture retention, and reducing breakage. To gain these crucial benefits, the Kérastase Curl Manifesto Masque Beurre Haute Nutrition Hair Mask came in handy. Once a week, I swapped out the conditioner for the hair mask. Making sure my hair was damp rather than soaking wet, I applied a generous amount and used my fingers to detangle and distribute it evenly. I then added a tiny bit of water to allow the mask to emulsify and waited 20 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. With washing now done, the task of styling my curls lay ahead. But after such a pleasurable wash day experience, I was keen to see which of the Kérastase products would be up to the challenge.
Before
After styling with Curl Manifesto
First, I applied the Kérastase Gelée Curl Contour, which is formulated to amplify the curl’s natural shape, softness, and definition. As I worked the gel into my damp hair, the first thing I noticed was how gorgeous it smelt. The entire Kérastase Curl Manifesto range is made with manuka honey, and it’s honestly such a sweet, fresh scent—probably one of the best smelling hair products I’ve tried. The second thing I noticed came once my hair had fully dried. Looking at my curls in the mirror, I could see much more definition, and even as I gently brushed my hair out to add length and volume, my curls still looked shiny and sleek rather than frizzy.
I waited until my hair was fully dry to add the leave-in conditioner, but it quickly became one of the most utilized products in my new regimen. An ultra-lightweight creme, this leave-in is perfect for reawakening my curls in the morning or making my curls look more pronounced and easier to style before leaving the house.
Pro tip: I found it to be most effective when I sectioned my hair into smaller strands, letting the creme really soak in.
After trialing the Kérastase Curl Manifesto line for just over a week, I did feel more confident in being able to quickly and reliably achieve curls that were more defined. My hair will probably always dance to its own tune and have small pockets of frizz, but with such an expansive range of products, I’m easily able to rotate between the leave-in conditioner and curl gel to pump up my curls and leave them looking stylish and ready to go.
