This style is best achieved on freshly washed, damp hair. We recommend cleansing with the Biolage 3 Butter Control System Shampoo. When used with the Biolage 3 Butter Control System Conditioner, the system locks in nourishment to help control frizz and enhance manageability. If you don’t have time to wash and condition your hair, you can dampen your hair with a spray bottle of water followed by a hot towel to help your locks feel softer.
Apply a quarter-size amount of Biolage 3 Butter Control System Day Cream throughout your hair to lock in nourishment, provide long-lasting frizz control and help resist humidity. Next, spray Biolage Styling Thermal Active Spray on your locks to help protect your strands against heat styling before blow drying your hair. Sims recommends blow drying your hair with a brush to help maximize your length. Because the goal is to stretch your hair and not to make it look sleek and smooth, be sure to brush gently and keep the heat on your blow dryer low.
Apply Biolage Styling Texture Sap to the edges of your hair and use a bristle brush to slick the sides of your hair up. Secure your slicked strands with several bobby pins. Now that the sides of your updo are sleek, spray Biolage R.A.W. Texturizing Styling Spray throughout your loose hair to create separation and definition for touchable texture.
Brush the hair from the front of your head back and away from your face, leaving a little bit of height at the crown. Working with 2-inch sections, twist the hair at the back of your head and secure each twist with a bobby pin. When you’re finished twisting your hair, apply three drops of the Biolage SmoothProof Serum to the hair at the crown of your head. Lastly, set your look with Biolage Styling Freeze Fix Hairspray.
If you want to copy some of Gurira’s Hollywood glamour, add a sparkly brooch to the side of your ‘do.
