Of all of the hair trends we predicted to take off this year, Permission To Play is by far the one I was looking forward to embracing the most. Given my job title as senior editor of Hair.com, I’m not proud to admit this, but the truth is I don’t do much to my hair. I love to test and try new products but when it comes time to style my hair, I typically resort to a messy top knot or a wash-and-go style. But I decided that this year would be different! This year would be the year I mastered new hairstyles and truly embraced all that my hair can do.
I may not have anywhere to go, but I’m not giving up on my mission to master new hairstyles. Now is the perfect time to practice all of those hairstyles collecting dust on my inspiration board. And since no one will see below my shoulders for the next few weeks, my hairstyle is the best way to express myself on the countless video conference meetings and virtual happy hours on my calendar. Looking to break out of your shell with a few hairstyles you’ve never tried? Keep reading for the ultimate inspiration.

Voluminous Curls
Office-appropriate hairstyles tend to be on the more conservative side, but when you’re working in an office of one, you can have a bit more fun with your hair. Take your typically tame curls and style them in a voluminous look that puts your ringlets on display!
