Just one month after announcing the top 30 finalists for the Fergie and Matrix SoColor Cult social media contest, Matrix is excited to announce the top ten winners. The contest—first announced in January at Matrix Destination 2018—invited hair stylists worldwide to submit their best vivid hair color looks for a chance to work alongside a Matrix celebrity stylist for Fergie’s July 12, 2018 concert in Long Island, New York. Artists submitted their entries via Instagram using the hashtag #SoColorCult and #FergieXMatrix, and were encouraged to include a special message for SoColor Cult icon Fergie.
All 30 of the finalists who were chosen in April participated in a phone interview with members of the Matrix education team to determine the top 10 winners. At stake: Two grand prize trips to New York City to assist a Matrix celebrity stylist using Matrix SoColor Cult to create fun, flirty, fierce look on Fergie and attend a Fergie concert and eight first prize trips to New York City to create using SoColor Cult and other Matrix products on dancers, band members, and celebrity guests and attend a Fergie concert.
Grand prize winners will work alongside Matrix brand ambassadors and celebrity hairstylists George Papanikolas and Nick Stenson to help color and style Fergie’s hair. Frequent contributors to Hair.com, Papanikolas and Stenson are some of the most well known and most sought after colorists and stylists in the industry.
