I was so excited to start using the Unbreak My Blonde system on my long, thick, naturally wavy hair. To do a true test, I began using the products exclusively following my most recent salon appointment (the one where I decided to go slightly lighter than my usual ‘do). It’s now been several weeks.
I’ll preface by saying that one of my least favorite things about bleaching my hair—even if it’s done professionally and carefully—is that my hair just tends to feel slightly drier and less healthy than usual. I was very eager to see if Unbreak My Blonde would curb that feeling, and I am happy to report that in the days and weeks that followed my appointment, my hair has looked so shiny and healthy!
I can honestly say that I’ve received so many compliments on how good my hair looks both in person and over video calls. It’s notably shiny and glossy, and it definitely doesn’t look like it recently went through the bleach wringer.
The shower experience is pretty amazing, too. The shampoo lathers nicely and reaches all the way to my scalp (this is sometimes tricky with my very thick hair) for a nice clean, and the conditioner instantly detangles and softens before rinsing cleanly.
The leave-in treatment is great, as well. I sometimes am wary about leave-in products because they can create a sticky or dense feeling, but it’s an incredibly lightweight product that helps further detangle while nourishing. Also—and this is a major plus in my book—the products have a high-quality salon smell that lightly lingers until I’m ready to wash again.
