I have naturally curly hair and I’ve spent countless hours testing products that can help keep my curls in check. But I’ve had more fails than my curls could take, so I usually resort to manipulating them to be anything but their natural state. My curly-haired friends would agree that finding the right curly hair products for your particular hair type is no easy feat.
Some leave my strands looking puffy and out of control, while others leave my hair oily and flat. And while finding an entire routine is still a work in progress, I recently tested Redken’s All Soft Mega Curls line and thought it worked wonders on my fine, curly strands. Read on for my Redken All Soft Mega Curls review.

What Is Redken All Soft Mega Curls?
Redken’s All Soft collection promises to help hydrate and moisturize dry hair, so it’s the best hair care collection for softer hair. All Soft Mega Curls is an extension of the same line. However, it’s ideal for those with severely dry, damaged curls from chemical services, hair dye, or heat styling. The collection contains three products, a shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioning treatment mask with star ingredients like cactus extract, aloe vera, and saca inchi oil. These work together to promote hair growth and hydration, and since the formula is stronger than the original All Soft, it’s perfect to use with coarse, curly hair.
All Soft Mega Curls Shampoo
Hydrating and moisturizing treatment shampoo that gently cleanses and nourishes extremely dry curly and coily hair.
Redken All Soft Mega Curls Shampoo
By gently cleansing hair, All Soft Mega Curls Shampoo helps provide hydration and softness to dry, medium to thick hair textures. With each use, it replenishes moisture and keeps curls and other textures under control. The product’s hero ingredient—Redken’s Nourish complex—contains aloe vera to strengthen, lock in moisture, and keep hair smooth and shiny.
All Soft Mega Curls Conditioner
Hydrating conditioner that provides deep conditioning, detangling, and moisturizing benefits for extremely dry curly and coily hair.
Redken All Soft Mega Curls Conditioner
Like the shampoo, Redken’s All Soft Mega Curls Conditioner relies on a hero ingredient of aloe vera to hydrate, strengthen, and smooth hair. With just a quarter-size amount of conditioner, it gently detangles and adds heaps of moisture to dry, medium, and thick hair types. After you rinse it out, it leaves hair super soft, shiny, and full of hydration.
All Soft Mega Curls HydraMelt
Hydrating leave-in treatment that moisturizes, deep conditions, and increases manageability for extremely dry curly and coily hair.
Redken All Soft Mega Curls HydraMelt
One of the best things about this leave-in treatment is how soft it makes hair with just one use. HydraMelt’s formula, which again relies on aloe vera and sacha inchi oil, leaves hair soft and shiny while strengthening, hydrating, and locking moisture in damaged, dry strands. Apply just a little bit of this miracle worker before you heat style your hair with curling wands, blow dryers, straight irons, or when your strands need a little boost before they air dry.

My Redken All Soft Mega Curls Collection Review
I’ve spent the last few years dying my curly strands with blonde highlights, so as you can imagine my hair has plenty of damage. And, while I have a lot of hair, all of my curly strands are very fine, so it’s a duo for disaster. I’ve tried products across the spectrum meant to help keep frizz and dryness at bay and add hydration, but none have really worked for me—until I received Redken’s All Soft Mega Curls collection as a courtesy of the brand.
When my samples arrived, I committed to testing them for two weeks straight. I incorporated them into my routine the same way I would any other product. Typically, I shampoo and condition my hair two to three times a week (often styling it with heat tools on the same days I wash). I swapped out my regular shampoo and conditioner for the All Soft Mega Curls duo. In addition to applying heat protectant after my shower, I slathered on the leave-in conditioner to experience the full effect. So Is Redken All Soft Mega good for my 2A/2B mixed curls? In my opinion, yes.
I use a quarter-sized drop of shampoo on wash day which lathers effortlessly into a soft foam. I rinse out with just a bit of water—it doesn’t require much more work than that. Then, I apply two quarter-sized dollops of conditioner starting midway down to the ends of my hair, leaving it on for about five minutes before giving it a rinse. Truthfully, I notice the difference right away after rinsing out the conditioner. My hair is tangle-free, smooth, and easy to get a brush through. Before styling my hair, I apply a dime-sized amount of the leave-in treatment on my air-dried curls or before using my heat tools—whichever feels right. (I have been wearing my curls proudly more often though.)
I saw a major difference in my curl pattern with just one use. My curls had more definition and my hair was more hydrated, but also my strands felt soft to the touch. I noticed that it wasn’t difficult to get a brush through my hair like it sometimes is in its curly state, and when air-dried, my hair seemed to fall in a beach wave-like pattern rather than frizz in all different directions. (Bonus: When I blow-dried my hair, it was noticeably smoother and looked a lot healthier.) Take it from me—if you’ve fried and dyed your curls over the years and want to get your pattern back, scoop this trio up stat.
