The Best 2024 Hair Color Trends to Try This Season
Cowgirl Copper
We’re calling it—cowgirl copper has to be the hottest hair color for 2024. The shade pulls inspo from the richness of Western leather (hello, cowboy boots trend!). It features a blend of caramel, brunette, red, and even a hint of blonde, which all come together for a look with lots of warmth and depth.
How to Get the Look

Dream Doll Blonde
There’s a certain blockbuster hit from last year that still has blondes everywhere looking to achieve a dreamy shine reminiscent of your favorite doll’s hair growing up. Extra shiny, extra healthy-looking strands are what you’ll need to recreate the voluminous ponytails and bouncy blowouts that are hallmarks of dream doll hair.

Ready to go darker ahead of fall? Treat yourself to expensive brunette, a social media favorite this season. The richness of this natural chocolate color can be sported as an all-over color, or you can add caramel ribbons throughout for more dimension.

Expensive brunette exudes richness without being too warm or too cool. Carroll achieved this sweet spot by using Shades EQ in 7N Chocolate. It’s a low-commitment way to try out this glossy brunette hue without penetrating the hair cuticle (like permanent hair dyes do) and risking damage.
Champagne Blonde With a Kiss of Rose
Blondes looking for a bit more of a transformation can tap into their rom-com core era with champagne blonde kissed with a hint of rose. Latte Brunette
Coffee orders inspiring hair color trends is nothing new. We’ve seen pumpkin spice hair, caramel macchiato hair, and now, latte brunette hair. This new trend features a dark brunette base with blended, sandy blonde highlights that perfectly mimic the look of milk mixed with espresso.
How to Get the Look
Much like making the perfect coffee, getting a latte brunette color requires the perfect concoction. But in this case, instead of sugar and milk, it’s all about using the right hair glosses. Ask your colorist to use the Redken Shades EQ in 09NB Irish Creme and 07M Driftwood, with just a splash of 09P Light Opal Blonde.

Chantilly Blonde
If you’re looking to transform blonde tresses, it doesn’t get much sweeter than this chantilly blonde shade. (Of course, that makes sense—its namesake is delicious chantilly cream, after all.) The look is a light, cool-toned blonde that has a touch of silver shimmer. It makes for a fresh-looking color that can really brighten up your complexion.
How to Get the Look
For this look, your colorist will use different glosses in different areas. On the regrowth or root area, it’s all about the Shades EQ Gloss in 08N Mojave, 09N Cafe au Lait, and 08V Iridescent Quartz. For the mid-shaft and ends, they’ll use 010N Delicate Natural, 09V Platinum Ice, and 010P Ivory Pearl.

Cayenne Copper
Cowgirl copper isn’t the only gorgeous reddish hue on our radar. Cayenne copper is a bold shade that features both deep copper and rich red tones. It radiates warmth and intensity, much like the bold hue (and flavor) of cayenne pepper. In contrast to cowgirl copper, it doesn’t feature the earthier brown tones and is typically less muted.
How to Get the Look
Getting the perfect red might require more glossing than you’d think. To get the look, Redken colorists use Shades EQ glosses in 07GRo Golden Fizz, 06M, 07CC Urban Fever at the root, and 07CR, 07C Curry, 05CC Electric Shock, 07N Mirage on the rest of the hair. To finish things off, they use 09AA Papaya, Orange Kicker, and Clear all over.
