After beating out thousands of entries for the Matrix SoColor Cult social media contest, grand prize winners Eli Mancha and Amanda Stone had the chance to team up with Matrix artist George Papanikolas to create Fergie’s fiery new look. The artists masterfully blended the newly launched SoColor Cult shades in Red Hot, Orange Alert, and Lucky Duck Yellow to create a breathtaking final look.
Hailey Baldwin’s Pink Met Gala Updo
Fergie isn’t the only celebrity who played around with color this year. In May, Hailey Baldwin arrived at this year’s annual Met Gala with a punchy fuschia updo created by none other than Matrix’s very own Ryan Pearl.“I used a combination of Redken Shades EQ Gloss and Redken City Beats for this new hue,” he told Hair.com, citing the season as inspiration for the new look. “Pink hair is perfect for spring, and it’s incredibly flattering to all skin tones.”
Classic Lob
Hair.com’s very own intern Genesis Rivas took the plunge this year with a dramatic hair transformation of her own. After years of slaying down-to-there-hair, she traded in her long ‘do for a classic lob and donated her long locks to charity.
Lob With Curtain Bangs
Bangs are one of the quickest and easiest ways to completely transform your hair. Madison Sullivan, L’Oréal Professionnel artist, turned these long, bleached tresses into a chic lob with classic curtain bangs.
Amethysts Color Transformation
Rose gold hair was one of the biggest trends of 2018, and we can’t get enough of this crystal inspired iteration. Theresa Adams, L’Oréal Professionnel artist, began by bleaching her client’s hair before artfully hand painting hues of rose gold and soft purple to create an amethysts effect.
Black To Platinum
Platinum blonde hair color is notoriously difficult to achieve, but that makes the hue that much more rewarding. Andrea Hans, the owner of Broome Street Society salon in New York City, effortlessly took this client from jet black hair to platinum blonde all while maintaining the integrity of his hair. With a professional colorist and the right hair products, any hair color is achievable!
Pastel Perfection
